Anésio Manhiça graduated with a BA (Honours) in Social Anthropology from Eduardo Mondlane University in 2016. His research focuses on issues related to youth and entrepreneurship and citizen’s uses of urban spaces.
His final year dissertation entitled A metamorfose da cidade: vivências e práticas quotidianas sobre os espaços da “Sommershield II”, was the winner of the 2017 edition of the Christian Geffray Prize awarded by the French Embassy and the Franco-Mozambican Association of Sciences Human and Social Sciences (AFRAMO-CHS). His ongoing research uses biographical methods to gain insights into the entrepreneurial careers of businessmen, businesswomen and artists.
