Amâncio Miguel is a co-founder of Kaleidoscopio and a communications professional with expertise on radio and journalism. In his long work experience, he has worked for Mozambique Broadcast Station and the United Nations.
His works in the field of journalism and communications were broadcasted in organizations such as Radio France International, Voice of America and UN Radio. He has also organized the publication of CD with traditional music from Zambezia and Niassa and a book on trajectories of Mozambican musicians.

Anésio Manhiça graduated with a BA (Honours) in Social Anthropology from Eduardo Mondlane University in 2016. His research focuses on issues related to youth and entrepreneurship and citizen’s uses of urban spaces.
His final year dissertation entitled A metamorfose da cidade: vivências e práticas quotidianas sobre os espaços da “Sommershield II”, was the winner of the 2017 edition of the Christian Geffray Prize awarded by the French Embassy and the Franco-Mozambican Association of Sciences Human and Social Sciences (AFRAMO-CHS). His ongoing research uses biographical methods to gain insights into the entrepreneurial careers of businessmen, businesswomen and artists.

Anézia Asse holds a Honours degree in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management of from Eduardo Mondlane University (2014).
Before joining Kaleidoscopio, Asse was a trainee and worked as an assistant researcher for the Slave Wreck Project, a network of universities and institutes committed to use maritime archaeology to explore ways in which the slave trade from Africa’s Atlantic and Indian Oceans have played a foundational role in shaping global history. She has also worked in the elaboration of the Heritage Management Plan of Mozambique Island, a world heritage site. Her current research interests focus on shipwrecks and narratives about slavery associated to them and her master’s research explores the biographies of underwater heritage monuments on the East Coast of Africa.

Décio Muianga is holds an MA in Archaeology from the University of Witwatersrand (2013), a BA (Honours) in History and a BA (Honours) in Archaeology by Eduardo Mondlane and Witwatersrand universities, respectively.
He is a lecturer at the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at Eduardo Mondlane University and has conducted surveys, excavations and has produced management plans in Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. He has also worked in setting up the Manica Museum and Cultural Centre. His ongoing research focuses on the documentation and interpretation of rock art and Later Stone Age in Central and Northern Mozambique.

Énio Tembe holds a degree in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management of from Eduardo Mondlane University (2018).
His final year dissertation entitled Idade de Pedra Superior no sul de Moçambique: enquadramento tecno-tipológico do espólio arqueológico do abrigo rochoso de Caimane, província de Maputo, compares the typologies of the lithic tools found at Caimane Rock Shelter with those from other archaeological sites in Southern Africa. As a trainee and assistant researcher, Tembe has taken in archaeological surveys and cultural heritage management projects in Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho and Brazil.

Euclides Gonçalves is a co-founder and director of Kaleidoscopio. He holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Witwatersrand (2012).
Before joining the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (2007-2011) he worked as a Program Assistant at the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), Senegal. His research focuses on studies on governance, bureaucratic processes and political rituals.

Júlia Samambaia holds a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of St. Thomas of Mozambique (2018).
Her final year dissertation entitled Comportamento dos preços pagos pelos consumidores do arroz em Moçambique face a introdução das tarifas de importação (2000-2017) analyses national policies and major databases to explore the relationship between rice import taxes and market prices in Mozambique. Her current research focuses on agribusiness, rural development and environment.

Rufus Maculuve holds an Honours degree in Management and Cultural Studies at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts and Culture (ISArC) (2012) where he teaches the subject of Cultural Production.
He is a co-founder of Kaleidoscopio and the Executive Director of Music Crossroads Mozambique since 2009. He also collaborates in the program Umojacfc and Umoja Festival. In this project, he coordinates the music section in eight countries since 2003. He is a self-taught musician and founding member of the music band Kapa Dech where he recorded and composed themes as one of the band’s keyboard players. His works include the composition of soundtracks for A Ponte and Night Stop by Licínio de Azevedo, A Bola by Orlando Mesquita and I Love You by Rogério Manjate.

Sandra Gonçalves holds a MA Arts in Historical Demography (2004) and an Mphil in Technical Demography (2008) by the universities of the Western Cape and Cape Town, respectively and graduated in Statistics from the University of Cape Town (2002).
Her research experience and training in quantitative methods includes works in Mozambique, Angola, Kenya and South Africa. She is also the author and co-author of technical manuals quantitative research, including a contribution to the project The Island of Research – An E-toolkit edited Robert C.-H. Shell. Her recent work explores the demographic transition and neonatal mortality in Mozambique.

Sandra Manuel holds a PhD in Anthropology with a focus on sexuality and gender analysis. Her thematic research has granted her a critical overview of these concepts in public policies and development strategies.
